Puppies for Sale
All of our pups are born in our home and will stay until at least four weeks of age before we move them to be within the larger family of dogs. There have been many occasions when we have been up all night helping the mums, especially the younger ones having their first litter. This allows the puppies to have the best possible start and saves the mums from becoming too stressed at such an important time. It also enables us to give them our full attention when its most needed. The puppies soon get associated with the hustle and bustle of a busy household. When they are four weeks old and we consider them to be healthy enough, they are taken outside where they will have warm dry place to sleep with their mums. The pups then become associated with the larger family of dogs. There is a large area for all of the dogs to exercise together. Outside they get use to other noises such as people coming and going, lots of other animals, and country sounds. Allowing the puppies to live a normal life with the larger family of dogs really allows them to learn about the hierarchy which exists and should be learned by the puppies. It really does help to produce a well socialised dog ready to take its place within a new family.
We recommend if you are looking to purchase a new puppy whether it be from us or another breeder you should ask questions to ensure you are happy with the breeder and how the puppies and the larger family of dogs are looked after. You need to see how the puppies interact with the larger family of dogs, with the breeder and with yourselves. We are more than happy and actually suggest people visit us and have a look at our set up. The set up is not posh, it does however meet the needs of the dogs and that is the important thing. Its an environment where the dogs feel safe, its there home. You need to see how the mums, dads and puppies are looked after on a day to day basis. You also get to meet us Rob & Sarah and have a cup of tea. You must remember a puppy farm or bad breeder will not want you anywhere near their premises. They tend to sell the puppies through pet shops and other third parties. They will even offer to meet you half way or in a car park somewhere on the pretense of doing you a favour. You should always without doubt refuse the offer and pay them a visit.
It is important these unscrupulous breeders are not supported in any way. You may think by purchasing a puppy from one of these farms you are saving the puppy. Whilst this is true for the individual puppy, the profits created will only ensure more puppies are bred in appalling conditions and so the cycle of abuse continues. They do not care about the dogs used in breeding and care less for the puppies they breed. If you are not able to visit a breeder for any reason, still ask the question " Can I please come and visit your premises" If the answer is no, then you really should not buy your puppy from them, its as simple as that.
Important notice. I am sure most of you will be aware of the new law coming into force in England April 2016. All dogs must be microchipped. From April 2016 owners of dogs in England that come to the attention of the police or local authorities will be scanned. Owners whose dogs are found without a microchip will have the benefits explained to them and be given a short period to comply. If they fail to microchip their dog, owners will face a fine of up to £500.
All our puppies are now microchipped, we do this in house. We allowed a microchipping course to be held here for several other interested parties. We are pleased to say, Sarah and all the other attendees passed with flying colours, so we are now legally able to microchip. If you have purchased a puppy from us in the past and have not had your dog microchipped, I would urge you to do so. We now offer a service whereby you can come back and have your dog microchipped at a reduced rate. For details just fill in the form on the contact page.
We always strive to breed healthy puppies from healthy parents. Puppies are just like human babies. We have all seen and have heard of instances where healthy parents can give birth to a child who goes on to be less healthy. The same is true for all animals.
We always strive to ensure the health of any puppy we breed, a fact we pride ourselves on, however it is impossible for any breeder to categorically guarantee the health of a puppy in the long term. Any breeder who tells you otherwise is not correct.
It is for this reason we offer 4 weeks free insurance by Pet Plan on all puppies we sell. We firmly believe if you own a pet you should carry the appropriate insurance, if only to give you peace of mind. We strongly urge all pet owners to carry the appropriate insurance.
