Microchipping
Pet owners Protection and peace of mind
All our puppies are now microchipped with Pet-ID Microchips before they reach 8 weeks of age.
Microchipping is a simple safe and quick procedure. It can make all the difference in being reunited with your pet should they stray or go missing. The microchip is the size of a grain of rice and the procedure takes just a few minutes and is done by ourselves as Lantra approved implanters. There is no additional cost to you for the microchipping as it is built into the price of the puppy.
How does a microchip help to reunite a lost pet with their owner?
Once your pet is microchipped, you and your pet's details are stored in a microchip database along with the microchip's unique 15 digit code.
When a missing pet is found, an animal professional (for example a vet or dog warden) will scan the pet revealing the microchip's unique 15 digit code, and contact the microchip database your pet is registered with. The customer care staff will perform some security checks before releasing your contact details to the animal professional - so that your pet can be reunited with you.
Pet-ID Microchips and why we use them
As a breeder we always want to give our customers the best service and advice. We are well aware of the new legislation coming in April 2016 and wanted to be ahead of the game. We have spoken to numerous companies who were offering Microchips and various services, but we wanted more than that, we wanted good service with unparalleled backup, we found that in Pet-ID and Petlog. We now feel secure we have done the best for the puppies and their new families.
All new puppy owners will be given an Owner Information pack. We feel it important to ensure the owner is aware of their obligation to keep details up-to-date, if they move or ownership changes, especially with Compulsory Microchipping of Dogs becoming law in England and Wales. We are conscious of a lack of understanding regarding who to contact for change of details, or what to do if a pet goes missing
